Entrants agree that that the project name, written description about the project, and photographs/video that are submitted as part of the entry may be used by the Saskatoon Region Home Builders' Association for marketing, promotional purposes, or in any manner the Association chooses, including but not limited to use on SRHBA's website, social/digital media platforms and/or published or broadcasted by SRHBA, including supplying to media outlets that wish to report on the entry becoming a finalist or winner.
The entrant confirms that photography and video are either the product of the entrant's employee(s), or in the case of independent photographers and/or videographers, that their written consent has been obtained.
The entrant confirms that architecture and design are either the product of the entrant's employee(s), or in the case of independent architects and/or designers, that their written consent has been obtained.
A signed Homeowner Permission Form is required for the Home Renovation Awards as well as for any custom home (either in the Custom Home categories or New Home Spaces Home Awards). The project name on the Homeowner Permission Form must match the project name on the online submission. If there is a discrepancy, the project name on the Homeowner Permission Form will be used. This form is to be submitted with your entry as an uploaded PDF.
Building permit numbers from an issuing municipality within the Saskatoon & Region CMA or any rural or urban municipality that is located in Saskatchewan north of the Town of Davidson must be provided for all renovation and new home category submissions.
All projects and community initiatives referenced in submissions (i.e., Community Leadership, Safety and Environmental awards) must be located in, or provide benefit to organizations or efforts specifically focused in the Saskatoon Region CMA or any rural or urban municipality that is located in Saskatchewan north of the Town of Davidson.
Any entry in a specific category from a previous year is not eligible to be entered in the same category for the current year's competition; however, a new phase could be entered from the same project (i.e., If you entered a townhouse project last year, Phase 2 of the same development could enter again this year as long as additional phases have substantial differences).
Eligibility
Only members in good standing as of January 1, 2024 are eligible to participate in the awards program.
All submissions must be completed projects (homes or renovations) or support initiatives (community impact, safety, environmental) which are located within the Saskatoon CMA or within Saskatchewan, north of the Town of Davidson. Building permit numbers from an issuing municipality must be provided where applicable.
Entries submitted in previous years are not eligible for re-entry.
There are no maximum entries per category.
The judging panel for the Housing Excellence Awards is made up of a minimum of ten judges from across the country.
The current awards season is defined as August 1, 2022, to October 31, 2023. Projects or initiatives must have been completed during this time frame to qualify.
